Our Teaching Principals...

We have all been to a football or basketball game and heard the coach being too harsh with an athlete.  We believe this destroys the athlete's confidence.

We believe in positive reinforcement!

Our number one rule is "NO ONE GETS HURT".
There are fewer injuries in karate than in baseball, softball, football, soccer or tennis.

Just as an infant must learn to crawl before walking, our students first learn the basics of the art, thereby imbedding a strong foundation upon which to build a mastery of their chosen form of Martial Arts.

Self-defense is an important part of our training.  Many Martial Arts instructors spend too little time teaching self-defense to their students, allowing them to have a false sense of their ability to adequately defend themselves.  Many times the student is instructed to 'stop short' on their punches and kicks, so that the defending student exhibits an impressive defense.

Bushi Karate's self-defense instructors base their teachings on real-life scenarios, in a controlled atmosphere.  Our students quickly become proficient at self-defense, and are taught to use it only as a last resort.  Often, our students' knowledge and self-confidence allows them to walk away, without fighting; the preferred outcome.

We believe that life's obstacles are more easily overcome as a direct result of the teaching methods employed here.  The requirements for advancing at each belt level are strict, but attainable.  Performance and technique take precedence over time spent in training.

Bushi Karate students consistently perform at higher levels when compared to other schools' programs.
